India, whose 50% of the population is below the age of 25 years, still 92% of Indians are not using Internet and 71% of Indians are using mobile phones is a country which is hub for IT. 71% of Indians live in rural areas compared to only 20% Americans live in rural. There are many more interesting numbers which explains the penetration and usage patterns of Internet in India.
Despite of struggling with many issues, India’s contribution towards to better tomorrow is growing very fast. With the lack of proper government policies and the corruption, penetration rate of Internet through broadband lines is quite slow but as India has 71% of mobile penetration and with the introduction of 3G, number of people having access to Internet is growing. One of the interesting fact is 59% of Internet users in India uses Internet via their mobile phones.
