Facebook News Ticker is a new feature on Facebook added in September 2011. It appears in the right hand side of the Facebook news feed which gives a real time view of what your friends are doing.

It shows who liked what, who posted what and many more activities of your friends. You can hover over your mouse to see complete picture of that particular news item. But most of the users just looks at their news feed and scrolls through to find out the updates. As everyone is habituated to this and many of the user do not have enough time to check every news feed item, the real time ticker is of no use. And most importantly, while a user is looking at something and the real time update in the right hand of the ticker annoys the user’s eye.

You may be one who have such issues and want to hide Facebook News Ticker. Here is a quick tip to hide the Facebook News Ticker. This feature was not available earlier and Facebook quietly introduced this feature recently.

By looking at above picture you can clearly notice a button just above your news feed. When you hover over that button it says “Hide Ticker”. Just click on that button and you are done.
