Just months after releasing Photoshop Touch for Android platform Adobe finally released it for iPad. Photoshop Touch app for Android platform received mostly positive reviews with a rating of 4.2 out of 5 on the Android Market. With this success Adobe now ported it to iPad.
You can now download this from Apple App Store for $9.99. Sad news for owners of first generation iPad as it is only available for iPad 2 and only works with iOS 5. Photoshop touch offers quite a few features which makes photo editing easier on the go.
With Photoshop touch you can crop, cut, remove portions of the images and combine multiple images. It also supports using layers, selection tools and filters. Using unique camera fill feature you can fill an area on a layer using iPad camera.
Thanks to the touch technology, you can simply use your fingertip to select complex portions of the image. Search for images with built in Google Images Search. Other features includes share modified images on social networks like Facebook directly from the app. You can also use AirPrint to print your images over the air directly from the app. Upload Photoshop touch projects to Adobe Creative Cloud instead of saving it on your device to save space and also you can download them on your desktop to edit it in Adobe Photoshop CS5.1.
One important limitation of this app is you can only use images upto the 1600 x 1600 pixel resolution. Now a days most of the cameras offer more resolution than this. Adobe keeping this limitation may be because of performance issues. Its a mobile device so you have to live with these limitations.
If cant afford to buy $10 app then you can use Adobe Photoshop Express. Adobe Photoshop Express is available on App Store since last few months as a free app but it offers very limited photo editing capabilities.
Once you try this app, share your experience with us.
